Senior Engineering Manager

About the Opportunity

The Senior Engineering Manager, Threat Operations leads a team responsible for identifying, containing, and responding to security threats. This role directs technical and strategic initiatives to improve threat detection and incident response, collaborating with legal, compliance, and engineering leadership to balance security needs with operational efficiency. The position is crucial for maintaining and advancing the organization's security capabilities in a dynamic threat environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of approximately 25 engineers across threat intelligence, incident response, and detection engineering
• Set technical and strategic direction for security threat detection and response
• Manage end-to-end incident response, including detection, resolution, and post-incident review
• Develop threat intelligence capabilities to enhance defensive measures
• Ensure compliance with security requirements and collaborate with legal and compliance teams
• Build strong partnerships with infrastructure security leadership and the CISO's office
• Participate in cross-functional hiring, planning, and investment decisions within the security organization

Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in security, including managing teams of 15 or more
• Security-first background with engineering skills developed alongside
• Experience managing managers or technical leads and developing senior technical talent
• In-depth knowledge of incident response and threat detection at scale
• Ability to collaborate effectively with legal, compliance, and executive stakeholders
• Resilient and adaptable to high-pressure environments with shifting priorities
• Based in North America, preferably East or West Coast

Pay

Annual Cash Compensation Range: $259,128—$414,652 USD. Compensation includes base salary, potential commissions and bonuses, and possible equity through restricted stock units.
