Duties, Responsibilities & Other
- Plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates detailed phases of the engineering work in part of a major project or in total project.
- Works on all phases of design and is involved in industry related services of a project.
- Performs engineering calculations, interprets engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proposes preparation including scope, schedule and fee.
- Aids in the creation of written technical proposals.
- Develops professional relationships through active participation in industry associations and community involvement.
- Collaborates with multiple engineering disciplines and performs drafting/CADD work as needed.
- Requires strong design knowledge.
- Trains and develops less experienced staff.
- Collects data through site visits, including measurements, sketches, notes, and photographs.
- Reviews and approves shop drawings and ensures they meet project requirements.
- Reads and interprets technical documents necessary for job performance.
- Consults and coordinates with other practices and sub-consultants as required to ensure project success.
- Attends bi-weekly (or more frequent, as necessary) meetings with the project team to discuss project progress and tasks.
- Ensures that all projects fulfill ISO compliance requirements and operate within specified budget parameters.
- Completes all tasks on time and within budget while fully meeting project scope.
- Achieves or exceeds budgeted individual utilization targets.
- Complies with all company policies and procedures.
- Completes other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-Accredited Program.
- Strong proficiency in required design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Revit.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Good communication and technical writing skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
