About the role

The Senior Pre-commissioning Engineer coordinates engineering activities and offshore operations for the pre-commissioning workscope of projects. This operational and technical position supports subsea projects and tenders within the pre-commissioning team in the engineering department, reporting to the Pre-commissioning Team Lead in Houston. During projects, the role initially reports to the Project Manager and Project Engineering Manager during the engineering phase, then to the Offshore Construction Manager during offshore installation. The position is based in the Houston Office or Merida, Mexico, with requirements for local and overseas travel, including offshore work during the installation phase.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Naval Architecture, or Ocean/Marine Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• Fluent in both written and spoken English (essential); Spanish and French are a plus.
• 5 to 10 years’ experience in a similar position in the Oil & Gas industry, preferably with an installation Contractor.
• Offshore construction and installation experience on shallow water and deepwater projects.
• Strong background and hands-on experience with offshore pipeline and umbilical pre-commissioning engineering and project execution.
• Strong experience in pipeline flooding, hydrotesting, cleaning/gauging, and dewatering.
• Experience with umbilical monitoring and testing is a plus.
