Senior Engineer

About the role

This position involves providing technical support, leading material development, and driving internal and cross-functional projects. The role requires a combination of hands-on laboratory work, technical analysis, and customer-facing activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and conduct CSI analysis and report writing.
• Lead and manage internal projects and new material development activities, including experimental design, testing, data analysis, and report compilation.
• Organize and conduct metallographic and other technical training for internal teams and external customers.
• Investigate and provide technical solutions for complex cases in both internal and customer technical development.
• Initiate and manage internal and cross-functional projects.
• Monitor competitors’ technical activities, collect relevant information, and conduct research.
• Participate in technical marketing, industry conferences, exhibitions, and translate or proof technical marketing materials.

Supervision and Management

This role may involve supervisory responsibilities; specific direct reports will be determined based on team structure.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Materials Science or a related field, with 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Proficiency in English (writing, reading, listening, and speaking).
• Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of products and processes, with the ability to solve real-world problems.
• Experience organizing and executing experiments and trials.
• Competence in operating laboratory equipment, conducting analysis and investigations, and drafting technical reports.
• Excellent presentation and interpretation skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Physical Demands and Working Environment

• Mobility required, including short-notice travel for business needs.
• Work environment includes office, laboratory, and off-site locations.

Communication and Interface

• Internal: Collaboration with Höganäs sales and quality organizations.
• External: Interaction with customers, equipment suppliers, service providers, and product suppliers.
