Senior Engineer, MES Development

Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and support the global utilization of Enterprise Manufacturing Execution Systems (EMES) solution to produce medicine across the digital manufacturing network.
- Design, build, test, and deliver standard and custom EMES capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and develop solutions.
- Support and administer the EMES solution to minimize manufacturing disruptions and impact to product by overseeing the central and site-level development, test, and production systems.
- Contribute to knowledge management strategy through content generation and mentoring.
- Identify and execute on opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Promote compliance with data integrity and computer system validation requirements and regulations.
- Identify change and the impact to the validated state of the application and underlying infrastructure.
- Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.
- Up to 10% domestic travel may be required based on business need.
Requirements
Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of post-bachelor’s, progressive, related work experience.
- Five (5) years of experience (which can be gained concurrently) with:
- Designing, building, deploying, and supporting automation and execution systems such as Syncade, DeltaV, and PI Data historian, in regulated manufacturing environments.
- Creating and executing validation plans, test cases, documentation, and audits within a regulatory industry such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or manufacturing.
- Contributing to the end-to-end implementation of IT or automation solutions, including post-implementation activities such as troubleshooting and SME-level support to assist the site.
- Applying IT solutions to support and optimize manufacturing operations through the use of IT tools and systems like Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and automation platforms.
- Three (3) years of experience with at least three (3) of the following:
- Digital manufacturing systems and operations.
- Material and Inventory modules.
- Order management.
- Equipment and instrument integration.
- Sample management.
- Patient scheduling system integration.
- Label printing.
- General automatic recipe functionality.
- Custom business recipe capabilities.
- Batch reporting and analytics.
Pay
Wage Range: $149,288.00 - $162,170.00
BMS operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy, and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department, and individual performance. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.

Eligibility Disclosure: The summer hours program is for United States (U.S.) office-based employees due to the unique nature of their work. Summer hours are generally not available for field sales and manufacturing operations and may also be limited for capability centers. Employees in remote-by-design or lab-based roles may be eligible for summer hours, depending on the nature of their work, and should discuss eligibility with their manager. Employees covered under a collective bargaining agreement should consult that document to determine eligibility. Contractors, leased workers, and other service providers are not eligible to participate in the program.

BMS has an occupancy structure that determines where an employee is required to conduct their work. This role may be eligible for a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite at the assigned facility (38 Jackson Road, Devens, MA 01434). Onsite presence is considered an essential job function and is critical to collaboration, innovation, productivity, and a positive company culture.
