Job Description
This position will follow our hybrid work model, with the expectation of being in the office 50% of the time, at either St. Petersburg, FL, or Memphis, TN.
Responsibilities
- Analyze business requirements, problems, and deliver quality technical solutions.
- Develop existing applications and contribute to development of new applications by analyzing and identifying areas for modification and improvement.
- Leverage AI platforms for documentation, test automation, support, and responding to user It and business stakeholders.
- Monitor batch jobs, diagnose, and correct performance issues.
- Monitor, identify, and correct software defects and find creative ways to maintain fully functioning applications software.
- Handle complex back-end systems independently and demonstrate analytical thinking.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders and may lead assigned projects, including assigning tasks, coordinating efforts, and monitoring performance.
- Recommend new technologies and methodologies to management with both tactical and strategic methods to meet business needs, resolving problems and exploiting opportunities.
- Remain current with new technologies and identify issues, problems, and opportunities.
- Identify and understand factors such as reporting formats required, costs, and security needs to determine hardware configuration.
- Participate in software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
- Write and/or review system specifications, including output requirements and flow charts.
- Create and maintain technical and/or user documentation to a high standard, and back up files to ensure instant recovery if problems occur.
- Ensure proper analysis of problems and programming approaches to prevent rework and schedule slippage.
- Communicate clearly and effectively through various media to engage audiences and help them understand and retain the message.
- Demonstrate good technical and professional skills or knowledge in position-related areas and remain current with developments and trends in areas of expertise.
- Develop and use collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals.
- Occasionally work non-standard shifts including nights and weekends, and have on-call responsibilities.
Skills/Previous Experience
- More than five (5) years of relevant development or engineering experience.
- Experience in HP NonStop COBOL85, HPNS SQL/MX and SQL/MP.
- Experience in Pathway servers and configuration.
- Full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience.
- Experience working on HP NonStop/Tandem Guardian OS application development.
- Experience working with batch job processing, handling large date volume.
- Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid software development methodologies.
- Experience with brokerage and clearing business/industry.
- Experience with Middle Office and Back Office domains.
- Experience with messaging platforms (e.g., MQ).
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Experience working in remote and globally distributed business environments, employing a variety of in-person and remote collaboration tools, including email, phone, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Azure-DevOps, etc.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer and Information Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
