Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on facility maintenance and repairs, including low-voltage electrical work such as breaker and fuse replacement, installation and removal of custom whips and receptacles, outlet and fixture work, and general support of PDUs and related infrastructure.
- Support the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous performance of critical facility infrastructure, including HVAC and humidity systems, UPS, transformers, switchgear, generators, electrical distribution systems, and emergency, fire, and security systems.
- Coordinate generator and UPS maintenance activities, perform or support load transfers, and generate MOPs for maintenance and repair projects to reduce operational risk in environments that cannot tolerate downtime.
- Manage critical infrastructure vendors and maintenance contracts to ensure facility areas operate within specification, meet safety requirements, and remain clean and orderly.
- Conduct routine walkthroughs to identify potential repair items, monitor and respond to assigned tickets, and use problem and change management systems to record, track, update, and close facility-related work.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external architectural, engineering, construction, and service partners on facility maintenance, repairs, design support, and implementation of infrastructure projects.
- Provide facility uptime reporting, capacity planning statistics, and input to budgetary and capital expenditure planning; process facility-related invoices in a timely manner.
- Maintain awareness of EPA, OSHA, fire and life safety codes, and property management requirements, and apply that knowledge to facility operations and compliance activities.
- Participate in on-call coverage and respond to emergency facility infrastructure situations as required; occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of related work experience required.
- Additional college coursework, technical training, or equivalent related experience in facilities, electrical, or mechanical disciplines preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in mission-critical or critical facilities operations required; equivalent licensed electrician or license mechanical experience may be considered.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems including UPS, transformers, power distribution systems, switching equipment, circuit breaker panels, and wiring in high-availability environments.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems related to heating, cooling, and humidity control, as well as building management and environmental monitoring systems.
- Demonstrated experience creating MOPs and BCPs and supporting structured maintenance, repair, and change management processes.
- Experience planning and executing facility or infrastructure projects in commercial or mission-critical environments preferred.
- Electrical license preferred and must be maintained if required for the role; electrical or mechanical training/certifications related to critical infrastructure are preferred.
- Proficiency with Windows-based applications and project planning tools, including Microsoft Word, MS Project, and Visio, preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, analytical problem-solving, multitasking, independent work habits, negotiation skills, and a positive customer service attitude are required for success in the role.
