About the role

This position serves as a strategic partner by managing complex employee relations matters and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. This role is responsible for conducting workplace investigations, advising leaders on performance and conduct issues, and supporting the development and enforcement of company policies and procedures. Responsible for understanding, upholding, and promoting the Everus 4EVER Strategy: Employees | Value | Execution | Relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5 years of progressive HR experience with a focus on employee relations, compliance and conducting workplace investigations

Responsibilities

  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and workplace conflict
  • Conduct prompt, thorough, and impartial workplace investigations related to complaints such as harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and policy violations
  • Provide guidance and coaching to managers on employee relations best practices, risk mitigation, and documentation
  • Partner with HR leadership to assess trends and recommend proactive solutions to improve employee engagement and reduce risk
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, EEOC, wage and hour laws)
  • Support the development, implementation, and interpretation of HR policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Conduct audits and reviews of HR practices to ensure consistency and compliance across the organization
  • Maintain records, documentation, and reporting related to investigations and compliance activities
  • Develop and deliver training to managers and employees on topics such as harassment prevention, workplace conduct, and compliance requirements
  • Provide education and guidance on company policies and legal obligations
  • Identify potential areas of risk and recommend solutions to mitigate exposure
  • Partner with Legal and HR leadership on complex or high-risk employee matters
  • Support organizational initiatives such as M&A integration, policy harmonization, and culture initiatives
  • Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion, objectivity, and sound judgment
  • Excellent investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to influence and advise leadership
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced corporate environment
  • High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality
  • Maintain professionalism in handling sensitive information
  • High degree of attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR)
  • Experience in a multi-entity or shared services environment

Pay

Salary Range: $84,620 - $105,770

Annual short-term incentive bonus of up to 20% of eligible wages based on eligibility and company goal achievement

Schedule

  • Requires minimal travel (up to 10%) including in-state and out-of-state by car and/or plane with overnight stays
