About the role

Heart of Texas Veterinary Specialty Center is seeking a full-time Senior Emergency Veterinarian to join their team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community in Round Rock, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Encourage, develop, and support CE that elevates the quality of ER medicine in the hospital
  • Work with the medical director to provide ER mentorship and/or guide ER Veterinarians to existing mentorship options within Thrive
  • Schedule case reviews and/or M&M rounds with ER Veterinarians
  • Develop an ER internship program
  • Provide ER specific CE to our referring community
  • Assist with veterinary student extern rotation mentorship
  • Work with the ER Staff Manager and ER Lead Technician to develop ER technicians

Requirements

You have a love of ER medicine and a desire to share that love. In this fast-paced environment, you’ll work with the hospital medical director and specialists to set medical standards for the ER department. You’ll work alongside the medical director to evaluate ER veterinarian performance.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) or equivalent degree required
  • State Veterinary Board License: Active and in good standing for the state of intended employment
  • Obtained prior to start date
  • Active DEA license or DEA licensure eligible
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in emergency medicine

Pay

Competitive base salary with production opportunities.

Schedule

Full-time position, working 40 hours per week.
