About the role
Heart of Texas Veterinary Specialty Center is seeking a full-time Senior Emergency Veterinarian to join their team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community in Round Rock, TX.
Encouragement, Development, and Support
We encourage, develop, and support CE that elevates the quality of ER medicine in the hospital. Work with the medical director to provide ER mentorship and/or guide ER veterinarians to existing mentorship options within Thrive. Assist with veterinary student extern rotation mentorship. Develop an ER internship program. Provide ER specific CE to our referring community. Work with the ER Staff Manager and ER Lead Technician to develop ER technicians.
Responsibilities
- Work with the medical director to set medical standards for the ER department.
- Evaluate ER veterinarian performance under the guidance of the medical director.
- Schedule case reviews and/or M&M rounds with ER veterinarians.
- Assist with veterinary student extern rotation mentorship.
- Develop an ER internship program.
- Provide ER specific CE to our referring community.
- Work with the ER Staff Manager and ER Lead Technician to develop ER technicians.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) or equivalent degree required.
- State Veterinary Board License: Active and in good standing for the state of intended employment, obtained prior to start date.
- Active DEA license or DEA licensure eligibility.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in emergency medicine.

Competitive base salary with production opportunities, no negative accrual.
