About the role

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Technical Specialist to join our team at HDR. This role involves performing engineering assignments under the direct supervision of a licensed engineer, designing tasks involving judgment in evaluating, selecting, and applying engineering techniques and procedures, and producing design drawings and construction documents using computer-aided design and other design software.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering assignments under the direct supervision of a licensed engineer
  • Design tasks involving judgment in evaluating, selecting and applying engineering techniques and procedures
  • Production of design drawings and construction documents through the use of computer aided design and other design software
  • Preparation of design and quantity calculations
  • Preparation of specifications and contract documents
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervising engineer
  • Coordination with other disciplines as necessary

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Associate's degree in engineering or related field of study or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of 15 years of engineering experience in the discipline to be supported
  • Aptitude and demonstrated hands-on experience with computer applications specific to the discipline to be supported
  • Extensive knowledge of industry standards specific to the discipline being supported
  • Proven ability to work in multi-disciplinary environments
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred qualifications include an aptitude and demonstrated hands-on experience with computer applications specific to the discipline to be supported

Qualifications

  • Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in engineering or an associate's degree in engineering or related field of study and a minimum of 15 years of engineering experience in the discipline to be supported

Skills

Proficiency with computer applications specific to the discipline to be supported, extensive knowledge of industry standards specific to the discipline being supported, proven ability to work in multi-disciplinary environments, proficiency with Microsoft Office, excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
