Senior Electrical Lead Engineer - Seattle, WA
Position Summary
Glumac, a Tetra Tech company, is seeking a Senior Electrical Lead Engineer for their team in Seattle, Washington. This role involves providing strategic leadership for the electrical discipline, mentoring and developing staff, collaborating with project managers, overseeing project designs, and contributing to regional leadership initiatives.
Essential Job Functions
- Provide strategic leadership for the electrical discipline within the office and region.
- Mentor and develop department staff, fostering career growth through structured development plans.
- Be a local supervisor to staff, ensuring adherence to firm QA/QC protocols and maintaining technical excellence.
- Collaborate with Project Managers on budgeting, scheduling, and staff management.
- Oversee, plan, and design electrical systems for various types of projects including healthcare, education, laboratories, institutional high-rise, and commercial buildings.
- Act as the Engineer of Record, leading technical communication with clients.
- Play an integral role in regional leadership, contributing to strategic initiatives and organizing discipline meetings.
- Work with internal and external team members including architects, consultants, code officials, and contractors.
- Manage regional staff workload effectively, leveraging local leadership.
- Oversee recruitment and retention efforts, ensuring a strong engineering team.
- Support and refine Glumac’s technical standards, implementing best practices in the local office.
- Provide feedback on technical standards implementation and suggest improvements.
- Track training opportunities and recommend professional development initiatives.
- Serve as a technical advisor for any claims or challenges requiring engineering expertise in the region.
- Lead and effectively manage a group of electrical engineers within the office.
- Absorb and assist in marketing and development of new and existing clientele.
- Ability to write proposals for new projects.
- Participate in activities and organizations related to the industry, develop peer relationships, technical growth, and business contacts.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience as an MEP Engineer in infrastructure and/or building systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Current Professional Engineering (PE) license is required.
- Working experience with building and electrical codes.
- Experience managing staff as a direct supervisor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Revit experience.
- Strong background in sustainable design is highly desirable.
- LEED AP BD+C accreditation.
- WELL certification.
Work Environment and Location
This position offers a hybrid work environment, requiring two in-office days per week in our Seattle, Washington office. All candidates must be located in and eligible to work in the U.S.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $150,000 - $200,000, depending on experience. This salary range is just one component of Glumac’s total compensation package, which includes benefits, professional development opportunities, and additional incentives.
