Vale Group, a nationwide specialized recruitment firm, has partnered with a company based in Chicago, IL, who is actively searching for an experienced Electrical Engineer to work onsite for an opportunity paying up to $135,000 per year, based on experience. Our client is a nationally active engineering, construction management, and technology consulting firm based in Chicago, delivering systems design work across transportation, water, and aviation infrastructure, along with energy and technology-sector projects. This role suits an electrical engineer with 5 to 10 years of design experience spanning power distribution, alarm systems, building controls and instrumentation, and interior/exterior lighting for commercial, institutional, and public-sector facilities; background in street or highway lighting design is a plus. Requirements of the Electrical Engineer: Experience designing systems that comply with governing electrical and life-safety codes, plus Chicago-specific electrical code requirementsFamiliarity with Illinois and Chicago transportation-agency design standards is a plusComfortable evaluating and adopting current BIM tools and technologiesAble to perform engineering calculations and equipment-selection analysisExperience drafting contract documents, technical specifications, and reports5+ years of relevant Electrical Engineering experienceBachelor's degree in Electrical EngineeringIllinois PE license preferredWorking knowledge of SKM Power Tools, AGI32, and RevitGeneral familiarity with adjacent engineering disciplines is a plusStrong verbal and written communication skillsComfortable with MS Office applications Responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer: Conduct site visits and document findings for clientsDevelop construction cost estimates, design budgets, and project schedulesSupport the bid process, observe construction activity, and assist with system start-upContribute to internal design standards and specification updatesKeep assigned projects on budget and on scheduleWork independently as well as within a collaborative, multi-discipline teamTake on additional project tasks as assignedSupport as needed If this sounds like you or someone you know, click Apply or share the job today!
