Senior Electrical Field Technician
About the role
The Senior Electrical Field Technician is responsible for implementing changes and creating field red-lines based on changes in field conditions. This role involves extensive travel or extended time at client sites and supervision and guidance of on-site electricians.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret electrical drawings to implement changes and create field red-lines.
- Provide direction to craft labor regarding electrical installations, wiring, terminations, and field red-lines.
- Field experience with various types of power plants including coal, hydro, simple cycle, and combined cycle power plants.
- Knowledge of circuit breakers, protection relays, low and medium voltage power transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, motors, potential and current transformers.
- Experience with power quality/test equipment such as power quality meters, meggers, hi-pots, and relay test sets.
Requirements
Candidate must have excellent communication, written, and organizational skills. Strong knowledge of industry best practices for electrical installations, wiring, terminations, field red-lines, etc. Field experience with coal, hydro, simple cycle, and combined cycle power plants is required.
