Senior Electrical Engineer | Ontario, CA
About the role
IMEG is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer in Ontario, CA, or Los Angeles, CA to lead electrical system design efforts for moderate to complex building projects. In this role, you’ll work closely with a team of engineers and consultants to provide project direction, engineering solutions, and advice to clients—supporting positive outcomes through engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings.
Responsibilities
- Lead design efforts for the analysis of electrical systems, utilizing engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards
- Perform site assessments and develop detailed analysis and technical reports
- Interact with clients to understand needs, gather requirements, and communicate technical information effectively
- Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication
- Provide in-process design reviews of electrical system design, calculations, specifications, and project correspondence
- Implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards and client requirements
- Train, mentor, and motivate staff
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering; Contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG
- Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work; Identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with electrical systems
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals
- Participate in project interviews and project presentations
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, required
- Professional Engineer (PE) License required
- 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
- Adept in the technical aspects of one’s discipline; advanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles of circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems
- Advanced proficiency of Master Specification editing and software such as eSPECS; Proficient with Adobe or Bluebeam Revu
- Ability to mentor, train, motivate, and lead others
- Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
- Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays
Skills
- Knowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards and reference material resources such as NFPA Link, TechStreet, MadCAD, and Facility Guideline Institution (FGI)
- Advanced proficiency of Master Specification editing and software such as eSPECS
- Proficient with Adobe or Bluebeam Revu

Pay
Salary Range: $130,000.00 – $150,000.00 Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant.
