Senior Electrical Engineer - Digital Hardware (Manufacturing)
This role is with a Department of Defense sensing technology manufacturer based in the Syracuse, NY area. The company designs and produces sensing systems used in defense applications, and the engineering team works across digital hardware, FPGA development, and high-speed electronic systems.
About the role
In this role, you will lead the design and development of advanced digital hardware for next generation defense sensing products. You will design multi-layer PCBs, develop schematics, and support board layout activities from concept through production. You will architect and develop FPGA solutions using VHDL and/or Verilog on Xilinx platforms, and perform hardware integration, testing, validation, and troubleshooting, along with production support as products move into manufacturing.
Your work will include designing high-speed digital interfaces, data acquisition systems, digital signal processing (DSP) architectures, and communication systems. You will also develop Python and Bash scripts to automate engineering workflows, and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the full product development lifecycle.
