Principal Responsibilities
- Lead the analysis, design, and documentation of electrical systems in accordance with applicable codes and IMEG standards
- Perform site assessments and develop technical analyses, calculations, and reports
- Collaborate with clients to define requirements, communicate technical solutions, and build strong working relationships
- Conduct design reviews and apply IMEG quality control processes to ensure technical excellence and compliance
- Mentor and develop staff while providing technical guidance and resolving field issues as needed
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to support innovation
- Prioritize safety and proactively identify and mitigate electrical system risks
- Partner with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project solutions
- Support project interviews and presentations
Required Qualifications And Skills
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, required
- Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred
- 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
- Adept in the technical aspects of one’s discipline; advanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles of circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems
- Knowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards and reference material resources such as NFPA Link, and Facility Guideline Institution (FGI)
- Advanced proficiency of Master Specification editing and software such as eSPECS; Proficient with Adobe or Bluebeam Revu
- Ability to mentor, train, motivate, and lead others
- Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
- Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook
- Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays
