Senior Electrical Engineer - Canonsburg, PA

About the Role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer at DT Midstream (DTM), you will review, develop, and manage the design for all electrical systems across the company’s facilities. You will support construction activities and the operation of existing electrical systems, handling complex electrical engineering projects from design to implementation. This role serves as an expert resource for other engineers, providing technical guidance and recommendations. You will occasionally visit company locations to offer expertise for design reviews, construction meetings, due diligence, and emergency responses.

Responsibilities

• Review and manage the electrical design of all facilities, including but not limited to:
  • Load Studies
  • Instrument Data Sheets
  • One Line Diagrams
  • Area Classification Drawings
  • Cause and Effect Matrix
  • Cable Schedules
• Demonstrate proficiency with Piping & Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs) and participate in design reviews, including Process Hazard Analysis.
• Develop and manage a comprehensive program to ensure the safe, continuous, and reliable operation of all electrical infrastructure, including transformers, switchgear, feeders, motors, and ancillary equipment.
• Develop and manage budgets and schedules for multiple midstream projects, supporting other disciplines to achieve their goals.
• Participate in cost and schedule estimates, plan work in alignment with project schedules, monitor progress, and report using prescribed systems.
• Drive innovative solutions to reduce cost and schedule.
• Liaise with other disciplines to ensure overall project goals are met and advise management of variations in a timely manner.
• Ensure all deliverables align with company and client procedures and standards.
• Review and assess new technology, materials, and equipment.
• Frame engineering/operational problems and propose solutions.
• Monitor and support engineering-related activities for field construction projects.
• Make sound engineering decisions under limited time constraints.
• Provide technical support to the field as needed.
• Prepare and present technical reports on projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of six years of job-related experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company-driving standards.
• Proficiency in computer applications such as Excel, Word, Visio, and Access databases.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and other design documents.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written, for interactions at all levels within and outside the company.
• Effective time self-management with a demonstrated personal commitment to work.
• Knowledge of design, installation, and commissioning of gas pipeline systems, including gathering and transmission pipelines, gas/liquid separation, heating, flow/pressure regulation, measurement, and odorization.
• Familiarity with industry codes and standards, including applicable Federal, State, and local regulations, ASME Piping Codes, National Electric Code, CFR 192, DOT, and PHMSA rules and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Gathering and transmission pipeline design and/or pipeline integrity management experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration.

Physical Demands

• Occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, or kneel.
• Frequently required to sit.
• Must be able to talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms extensively.
• Frequently lift objects up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift/move objects up to 25 pounds.
• Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions

This role operates in both a business office setting and at project sites. While at project sites, you may be occasionally exposed to:

• Outside weather conditions, including cold, hot, wet, and/or humid environments.
• Moving mechanical parts and/or machinery.
• Fumes or airborne particles.
• Vibration.

The noise level is usually quiet to moderate in the office but may become loud at project sites.
