About the role
Vantor is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our small team within the larger Spacewrx to execute space projects starting from customer needs to design, develop, and deliver the world’s most capable earth observation systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop Flatsat and risk reduction testbeds for multiple systems
- Integrate and test engineering model systems that create, encrypt, compress, store, modify, and downlink high-data rate mission products to Vantor ground systems
- Write and oversee system compliance to Electrical, Power, Avionics, and Data Handling requirements
- Review vendor-submitted processes, design reviews, analysis packages, and test reports
- Conduct and evaluate responses to RFIs and RFPs with satellite component vendors
- Generate and review Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, aerospace, physics, or a related field of study
- 3-8 years of experience in aerospace systems engineering
- Experience with Flatsat, risk-reduction test beds, and/or satellite-level electrical testing and troubleshooting
- Experience with the design or use of electrical, power and data ground test racks and equipment
- Demonstrated satellite program experience with at least 1 of the following subsystems: Electrical and Power Systems or Avionics and Data Handling Systems
Qualifications
- Preferred: Degree in Electrical Engineering
- End-to-end aerospace program system engineering experience from initial architecture through assembly, integration and test to on-orbit operations
- Experience designing and qualifying avionics systems for low-earth orbit space environments: radiation, thermal, and EMI/EMC environments in particular
- Experience working with space-based memory and mission data recorders
- Experience writing testbed or satellite test procedures, plans, and test scripts
- Experience working with precision timing systems
- Familiarity with software architecture, satellite bus flight software in particular
- Experience integrating AI-enabled edge-compute solutions in space
- Experience integrating optical crosslink terminal solutions in space
- Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance at the TS/SCI level

Pay
The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $107,000.00 - $143,000.00 - $157,300.00 annually. For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
Schedule
This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule and typically works in the office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and from remote on Monday and Friday.
