Responsibilities

  • Designing electrical and controls for new and existing fuel systems, as well as controls, e.g., PLC, pumps, motor-operated valves, instrumentation, etc.
  • Designing electrical systems for federal buildings, upgrading power distribution networks, and ensuring compliance with safety codes and environmental regulations.
  • Leading the development of engineering designs for complex projects, providing technical oversight and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Preparing detailed engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project goals.
  • Providing technical guidance to project teams, reviewing drawings, specifications, and calculations to ensure that designs are feasible, accurate, and compliant.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to integrate engineering systems into architectural or construction projects, ensuring seamless coordination with other design disciplines.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior engineers, providing technical leadership and fostering professional development within the team.
  • Conducting quality control reviews at key project stages, ensuring that all deliverables meet internal and client standards for accuracy and technical precision.
  • Participating in client meetings and presentations, providing expert technical input and ensuring that client expectations are met.
  • Overseeing construction administration tasks, including reviewing submittals, conducting site visits, and resolving technical issues during construction.

Requirements

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • 7 - 10 years of experience in engineering design and project management

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Experience leading large or complex engineering projects
  • Deep understanding of DOD, federal design standards, and processes
