Senior Electrical Engineer
About the role
We are actively seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Chandler office. The ideal candidate is a seasoned technical leader who can manage and execute multiple design projects simultaneously, coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams, and deliver exceptional technical quality across complex building and industrial systems.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical lead and design manager on multiple concurrent projects.
- Establish project schedules and provide continuous monitoring, tracking, and maintenance of design timelines.
- Cook up cross-discipline design activities with architectural, mechanical, structural, civil, and technology teams.
- Prepare detailed site analysis reports evaluating project feasibility, utility conditions, site constraints, and potential construction challenges.
- Produce comprehensive project documentation, including:
- Electrical equipment layouts and schedules,
- Site plans,
- One-line and grounding diagrams,
- Lighting plans and photometric studies,
- Life safety and fire alarm plans,
- Telecom, security, and low-voltage system plans,
- Installation details, schematics, and construction specifications.
- Provide construction administration services including RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch walks, and field observations.
- Interface with the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) for permitting, compliance, and code interpretation.
- Model electrical systems using SKM, ETAP, EZ-Power, or other IEEE-compliant tools.
- Specify electrical equipment including transformers, switchboards, MCCs, panelboards, overcurrent devices, conductors, raceways, motors, and VFDs.
- Travel domestically up to 10%.
Requirements
Licensed Professional Engineer (Electrical) in the State of Arizona or the State of New Mexico. Extensive experience in the design and construction of commercial, industrial, and utility-scale power distribution systems, including conducting equipment selection and specifying raceways, conductors, switchgear, MCCs, panelboards, and circuit protection devices. Experience in one or more high-tech or industrial sectors, such as:
- Semiconductor manufacturing
- Chemical processing
- Power distribution and utility infrastructure
- Material handling
- Water and wastewater treatment
- Industrial processes
- Industrial HVAC/mechanical systems
- Datacenters
- High-tech manufacturing environments
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. 10 years of related experience in electrical engineering and power system design.
Skills
Proficiency with SKM, ETAP, EZ-Power, or other IEEE-compliant tools. Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
