Senior Electrical Engineer

About the role

The Senior Electrical Engineer will work in a fast-paced multi-discipline team environment responsible for designing building systems and producing construction documentation for institutional projects in the higher education, government and healthcare markets.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems including lighting, power, fire alarm, telecom and security.
• Develop calculations for lighting systems and associated controls.
• Develop electrical system design calculations.
• Prepare detailed design documents in REVIT.
• Perform QA/QC design work.
• Lead a project team and manage projects.
• Cook with Owners and Architects.
• Cook with other disciplines.
• Complete code compliance research.
• Oversee and provide guidance to junior engineers.
• Aid in the procurement of new work; including the development of client relations.

Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years design experience as registered engineer.
• A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• A Professional Engineer license, PE.
• Experience with complex institutional projects.
• LEED experience, certification is desired.
• Familiarity with codes, standards and design guidelines.

• Interpersonal communication skills, combined with organizational skills, the ability to plan, balance and prioritize work.
• Ability to lead a team as well as work as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Revit and MS Office.
