We work alongside the best and brightest to do incredibly cool things you wouldn't believe. At Roush, you're part of building the future. The Senior Electrical Engineer leads the development of electrical systems for both internal Roush projects and external customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project engineering and design team to design, model, and analyze electrical architecture, electronics hardware/systems, including processing, signal conditioning, sensors, actuators, and data communications systems
  • Create and review engineering work products such as electrical schematics, electrical controls cabinet designs, as well as detailed cable assembly drawing and create bill of materials (BOMs) and all other associated documentation
  • Inform and update the engineering and design team regarding relevant program information including key dates, requirements, customer reviews and deliverables
  • Lead the development and execution of electrical system or component functional and validation test requirements/procedures/documentation, and lead installation and commissioning efforts
  • Develop and capture customer and interface requirements and ensure conformance of components and systems to customer specifications
  • Research new products, technologies, and methodologies and conduct trade-off studies
  • Support hazard assessments and failure modes and effects analysis
  • Provide leadership, guidance, coaching, and technical support to team members

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in electrical and controls development
  • Experience in electrical and controls engineering in industries including automotive, aerospace, defense, industrial, manufacturing automation, or theme park
  • US citizenship
  • Knowledge of industrial control design and implementation using industry standard equipment
  • Ability to read, understand, and create electrical schematics and good understanding of electrical and electronics basics
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical data to various audiences and work in a team environment
  • Able to work independently and handle several assignments simultaneously
  • Experience with programmable logic control (PLC) ladder logic and PLC software languages gained through coursework or other projects
  • Experience with the development and maintenance of electrical test plans, DVP&Rs, hazard analysis and DFMEA documents
  • Experience with electrical standards such as NFPA, NEC, UL 508A, etc.
  • Experience with the following software packages: AutoCAD 2D, Solidworks, Solidworks Electrical, Microsoft Visio
  • Experience with vehicle electrification – High voltage wiring and distribution, batteries, motors, inverters, etc
  • Capable of planning, estimating, scheduling, and coordinating technical aspects of projects
  • Automotive vehicle knowledge, including hands on mechanical or electrical work
  • Themed entertainment industry knowledge of ride systems, animated figures and show action equipment
  • Working knowledge of NFPA70, UL508A standards, IPC620, Controller Area Network (CANbus), Serial, EtherCAT, and Ethernet communications
  • Able to operate an oscilloscope and other electronics test equipment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
