Senior Electrical Engineer
About the role
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for coordinating electrical engineering tasks, establishing client relationships, and leading projects from concept to completion.
Responsibilities
- Cook up the work of Electrical Engineers with the balance of a multidiscipline team throughout the entire project's development
- Build client connections, and participate in marketing, design, and production meetings regarding electrical systems
- Take charge of many projects, acting as the electrical lead
- Check in with various governing bodies for code compliance
- Host schematic, design development, and contract document work sessions at the project site alongside the Project Manager, Project Architect, and other disciplines
- Divvy up the workload throughout the project development to make sure documents are completed on time
- Monitor the financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust the work effort with the team to ensure the work is completed within the agreed-upon schedule
- Collaborate with the Project Manager and Regional Controller for project reviews with corporate management as needed
- Direct the activities of other electrical engineering professionals, and act as a mentor to other staff members as needed
- Do other duties as needed
Requirements
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis, or previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- A minimum of 10 years experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems)
- Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting, and signal design, including life safety systems and building management systems
- Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, and electrical design software
