About the role

The Senior Electrical Engineer is expected to lead electrical engineering tasks on smaller projects, manage technical and scheduling aspects, and provide guidance to lower-level personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares or reviews discipline project specifications.
  • Prepares or reviews requisitions for inquiries in support of purchasing equipment, materials, and subcontracts.
  • Prepares technical bid evaluations for equipment, materials, bulk materials, and subcontracts in collaboration with the Procurement Department.
  • Observes factory acceptance testing of equipment in cooperation with the Lead Engineer.
  • Performs engineering calculations and analysis as required by the discipline.
  • Develops and/or reviews one-line diagrams, area classifications, and layouts as required by the discipline.
  • Reviews plot plans as required by the discipline.
  • Collaborates with and provides liaison with client personnel regarding electrical activities.
  • Reviews and approves vendor documents.
  • Accepts both short and extended-term assignments to the site, client's office, etc., as requested by the Chief Electrical Engineer.

Requirements

  • Typically 5-10 years of proven engineering experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Familiarity with natural gas industry standards and codes.
  • Knowledge of computer systems in an engineering environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • SKM software knowledge desirable.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • EIT or PE Certification preferred.
