What You'll Do
- Lead the electrical design of commercial, institutional, healthcare, education, mission-critical, and other complex building projects.
- Develop electrical construction documents, specifications, calculations, and technical reports.
- Perform site assessments and evaluate existing electrical systems.
- Cook up coordination with architects, engineers, owners, contractors, and consultants throughout all phases of project delivery.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while serving as a trusted technical advisor.
- Review engineering documents for quality assurance and code compliance.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and designers.
- Aid with project budgeting, scheduling, and resource planning.
- Support business development efforts, client presentations, and proposal development.
- Troubleshoot field issues and provide construction support as needed.
- Stay current on industry trends, evolving codes, and emerging technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in the building design consulting industry.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Building power distribution
- Lighting systems
- Emergency power
- Electrical calculations
- Applicable building and electrical codes
- Experience with engineering design software, Bluebeam or Adobe, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication, leadership, and client relationship skills.
- Experience mentoring engineers and coordinating multidisciplinary design teams.
- Ability to travel occasionally for project meetings and site visits.
