Responsibilities

  • Design upgrades for reactor plant instrumentation and control systems
  • Design upgrades for steam plant control and indication systems
  • Design upgrades for electric plant architecture
  • Draw support & reviews for major components such as power electronic inverters and converters
  • Supplier interaction for design upgrades
  • Program management for design projects
  • Execution of NAVSEA directed tasks
  • Technical manual development

Requirements

  • Major components supported: power electronic inverters and converters, power distribution switchboards and circuit breakers, microprocessor based instrumentation and control equipment, electromagnetic controllers, transformers, bus transfer devices and control stations
  • Technologies supported: power distribution, power electronics, systems integration, integration of microprocessor control systems, integration of copper based and fiber optic based serial communications systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of professional engineering experience
  • PREFERRED: Experience or classes in the design, analysis, or test of power electronic systems
  • PREFERRED: Experience or classes in the design and test of instrumentation and control equipment
  • U.S. Navy experience with electrical or electronics background
