What You Will Do
- Provide technical advice and guidance for all phases of Electrical Engineering projects.
- Develop Electrical Engineering projects utilizing new technology to enhance site safety, efficiency, cost control, quality control, and environmental protection.
- Review, investigate, and develop appropriate recommendations regarding assigned Engineering projects.
- Manage maintenance and projects and serve as the subject matter expert (SME) on large/complex site planning, construction, expansion, or modifications.
- Offer guidance and counsel to the site management team on applicable processes, practices, and local, state, and federal regulations.
- Contribute to site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for designated Engineering areas.
- Develop and evaluate AFEs (Authorization for Expenditure) for capital funding requests.
- Evaluate and administer contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment.
- Represent the site on company-sponsored steering committees, task forces, or teams.
- Perform other duties as required.
What You Bring To Freeport
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering discipline and five (5) years of related experience in Engineering or a related field, OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering discipline and three (3) years of related experience in Engineering or related field.
- Working knowledge and experience in electronics, PLCs, radio communications, and control systems.
- Broad knowledge of the principles and practices of Electrical Engineering with an understanding of Mechanical and Process Engineering techniques.
- Skill in researching and analyzing information of considerable difficulty and drawing valid conclusions.
- Ability to manage large/complex Engineering projects.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to evaluate and implement new methods and techniques for operational improvement.
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Ability to follow safety practices and recognize hazards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree or Professional Engineering (PE) Certification.
- Knowledge and experience of power systems engineering including equipment design, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical/industrial power systems.
- Knowledge and experience of power systems studies including load flow, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash study and mitigation.
- Knowledge and experience in designing process automation systems including experience in producing instrumentation and control narratives, PLC programming (preferred Allen Bradley PLCs), and P&ID drawings.
- Knowledge and experience with AutoCAD and/or Visio and Excel.
What We Offer You
The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $105,000-$145,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits, or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills, and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
