About the role
The Data Center Design Team at Fluidstack is dedicated to designing and operating 50GW+ of data centers. Key responsibilities include leading the design, development, and execution of cutting-edge data center projects, driving innovation in liquid cooling and electrical distribution systems, and influencing behind-the-meter designs for multi-GW campuses. This role requires technical oversight of end-to-end electrical designs, ensuring design quality, code compliance, and alignment with Fluidstack's standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical oversight of end-to-end electrical designs for large-scale data centers across the full power chain: MV distribution, LV distribution topologies, and rack-level delivery.
- Ensure design quality, code compliance, and alignment with Fluidstack's technical standards across the power distribution chain.
- Contribute to internal design standards, specifications, and best practices for data center electrical systems.
- Maintain design quality and consistency across a rapidly scaling portfolio as Fluidstack drives toward 10GW.
Requirements
- You've designed end-to-end data center or mission-critical electrical systems, across the full chain from utility feed to rack-level delivery.
- You've worked at a hyperscale operator (AWS, Google, Meta, Microsoft) or a major mission-critical design firm serving hyperscale.
- You know the major topologies cold (2N, N+1, catcher bus, distributed-redundant) and when each applies.
- You set and enforce design standards and review for quality across a portfolio.
- You hold design consistency steady while the project count scales fast.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in data center design, electrical engineering, or a similar field.
- Experience with large-scale data center projects and mission-critical systems.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for data center electrical systems.
- Experience with equipment specification and submittal review.
- Experience in standards development from scratch.
Skills
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and power distribution.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with project management tools such as SKM or ETAP.
