About the role
Join Dewberry as a Senior Electrical Engineer in Jackson, MS. We are seeking a seasoned professional with over 8 years of progressive experience in electrical design, particularly in power distribution, lighting, life safety, and telecommunications systems. The ideal candidate will provide technical guidance and training to our design team, ensuring the successful implementation of electrical systems across various projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and quality oversight, including code review, of all project work involving electrical engineering.
- Technical training and development of staff.
- Establish and improve standards, practices, guidelines, and specifications for electrical discipline area.
- Engineer of Record.
- Provide 'on-the-spot' advice and decisions - technical and cost estimates.
- Collaborate with all disciplines involved, including outside consultants.
- Technical interface with code officials and contractors.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- 8+ years of technical experience in the design of electrical systems with proven oversight on multiple projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of power distribution, lighting, life safety, and telecommunications systems.
- Ability to provide quality oversight, technical guidance, and training for design staff.
Qualifications
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity (example through Comity) within the State in which the position is posted within six (6) months.
- Accomplished electrical engineer with 8+ years of progressive technical experience in the design of power distribution, lighting, life safety, and telecommunications systems on projects.
- Experience should include technical oversight of multiple projects with proven success providing technical oversight on projects that meet contract specifications and technical standards to the client on time and within budget.
- Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Well organized, takes good notes.
