Construction Innovations is dedicated to creating solutions that enhance electrical installations through innovation and simplicity. Our products are used in various markets such as solar, battery storage, substation, and transmission and distribution projects.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure electrical transmission, distribution, and renewable facilities are designed and engineered to meet customer requirements, industry standards, and safety requirements
  • Lead engineering and design activities for medium/high voltage substations, switchyards, distribution, and transmission systems projects
  • Provide direction, consultation, and support for internal and external customers on various projects
  • Develop single-line, three-line, schematic, wiring, general arrangement, communications, SCADA, and layout drawings for medium/high voltage systems and equipment
  • Prepare relay settings, coordination studies, load flow analysis, ground grid studies, arc flash reports, harmonics studies, MOPs, and any other required High Voltage Reports or Procedures
  • Prepare electrical equipment specifications and evaluate electrical equipment submittals per customer requirements and applicable standards
  • Create project kit bill of materials (BOMs)
  • Mentor, train, and oversee the work of subordinate team members
  • Provide leadership to the Power team and assist with completing projects on schedule and on budget

Qualifications

  • Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in Electrical Engineering overall, with five (5) of those years in substation engineering for medium and high voltage power systems or photovoltaic systems
  • An ABET-accredited BS degree in Electrical Engineering is required
  • Registered Electrical Professional Engineer (PE) in at least one US state, with the ability to, and interest in obtaining PE licenses in other states
  • Knowledge of NEC, NESC, IEEE, ANSI, utility, and local codes and standards
  • Ability to evaluate and resolve complex technical issues, monitor and manage projects, and establish and maintain working relationships both internally and externally
  • ETAP/SKM knowledge and/or experience performing arc flash, short circuit analysis, relay coordination studies, and conductor sizing
  • Ability to train, develop, and mentor team members
  • Experience developing drawings in AutoCAD or similar programs
  • Knowledge and design experience in battery storage, solar, and microgrids is preferred
  • Experience in design/build or EPC construction or manufacturing preferred

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $142,250.00 - $235,700.00 annually. The actual amount offered within this range will depend on a variety of factors, including geography, skills and abilities, education, experience, and other relevant job-related factors. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. This role qualifies for a $10k sign-on bonus.
