Senior Electrical Engineer

Founded in 1975, BR+A Consulting Engineers maintains a total staff of over 500 employees located at our main office in Boston and branch offices in New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Vienna, VA (Washington, DC); Coral Gables, FL (Miami); Chicago, IL; St. Louis, MO; Tampa, FL; Charlotte, NC; Charleston, SC; Houston, TX; New Haven, CT; Los Angeles, CA; and Toronto. BR+A provides state-of-the-art integrated and coordinated mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection consulting engineering, technology systems design, lighting design, and building commissioning services. BR+A seeks an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer in our Chicago, IL office.

Responsibilities

• Delivering high-quality designs and deliverables on technically challenging projects
• Managing projects, writing proposals, maintaining positive client relationships
• Providing Engineering, Design work and drafting of plans
• Implementing approved system concepts from a schematic diagram to floor plans
• Sketching rough layouts to review with Project Engineer or Project Manager
• Reviewing product cut sheets and technical information
• Communicating with Project Manager/Project Engineer regarding potential problems
• Attending meetings as required
• Submitting the required documentation per project deadlines and milestones
• Attending in-house coordination meetings when appropriate
• Developing a strategy to meet the projects’ schedule
• Aiding in the development of engineering systems concepts (M/E)
• Aiding the design team on major design issues
• Organizing required technical correspondence, emails, and calculations
• Performing fieldwork and verification of existing conditions

Requirements

• Strongly motivated, well organized, and shows professional initiative
• The ability to take ownership of assignments and perform well both independently and as part of the project team
• A strong working knowledge of Revit

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• PE License
• 15 - 25 years of related experience

Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong understanding of engineering concepts, design, and spatial requirements
• OSHPD 1 project experience

Pay

Salary Range for 15 - 25 years of experience: $135,000 - $180,000
