Senior Electrical Engineer
About the role
The Dallas office of Arup is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead design and construction of complex data center projects. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical systems design and a Bachelor’s degree in electrical or architectural engineering. The role involves leading the electrical discipline, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design of electrical systems on medium to large-scale projects, focusing on mission critical projects.
- Mentor and supervise junior staff, contributing to the development of a skilled team.
- Maintain strong client relationships and ensure project delivery and repeat business.
- Prepare drawings, specifications, technical reports, and presentations incorporating sustainable design methods.
- Review the work of junior staff for compliance with codes, client design guides, Arup’s procedures, and quality standards.
- Present technical material to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Participate in local professional associations.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, commercial metrics, and client relations for projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or architectural engineering.
- Minimum 8 years of experience designing electrical systems for buildings or infrastructure projects.
- Ability to lead the electrical discipline as lead electrical designer for projects.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to take responsibility for electrical engineering design as Engineer of Record on multiple projects.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working.
- Experience with 3D BIM software, preferably Revit MEP.
- Professional Engineering License in Texas preferred.
- Experience with power system modeling using SKM or similar software preferred.

Pay
The Dallas hiring range for this position is $117,400 - $147,800 per year. Benefits are not included in the base salary.
