About the role

Amentum is a trusted partner to United States government agencies, allied governments, and corporations worldwide, supporting critical programs across a broad range of domains. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our component engineering group supporting our key Government customer.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis of and response to Non-Standard Part Approval Requests for electrical components that do not meet the requirements of the Parts Management Plan.
  • Lead and participate in Program Parts, Materials, and Processes Control Board meetings to review, discuss, and determine the validity of non-standard parts survivability for intended use case.
  • Mentor junior engineers to accurately evaluate components based on their qualification and test data.
  • Collaborate with environmental and radiation test teams to complete component characterization and testing.
  • Review test data and reports prior to being provided to customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and 10 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Component or Systems Engineering experience with a focus on quality and reliability standards and methods of IEEE parts.
  • Knowledgeable of best design practices for IEEE parts.
  • Experience with military standards (MIL-STD), and various other industry standards in regards to the characteristics, performance, and survivability of component parts.
  • Ability to analyze the differences between the military standards, and the part performance data.
  • Ability to communicate ideas to customers, program office, colleagues, and contractors.
  • Proven communications and analytical skills with a sense of urgency and in a timely manner through work experience.
  • Experience with electronic component testing and characterization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in engineering and 12 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Experience authoring or managing a Parts Management Plan.
  • Experience in creating or reviewing Non-Standard Part Approval Requests.
  • Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software.
  • Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and impedance analyzers.
  • Experience with scripts and scripting languages.

Pay

$120,000 - $190,000 annually
