Senior Electrical Designer | Phoenix, AZ

Principal Responsibilities

  • Cook up and oversee projects of varying sizes and complexities
  • Help Project Executives and Client Executives with scope of work and fee calculations, and review contracts
  • Create project schedules with milestones and deadlines
  • Be the go-to person for teams and clients
  • Generate monthly billings and submit financial info to Accounting; update billing projections and completion percentages
  • Make sure designs adhere to owner standards, IMEG standards, and codes; ensure milestone deliverables are met, quality control processes are completed, and construction support occurs
  • Collaborate with design staff, coordinate project schedules, lead progress meetings, and document meetings
  • Visit construction sites and provide necessary documentation
  • Handle client/construction concerns; manage change orders and get approvals
  • Train, mentor, and motivate staff

Required Qualifications And Skills

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, minimum 7 years of experience, 8 preferred; Associate degree in BIM or Engineering, minimum 11 years of experience, 12 preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics
  • Knowledge of IES Standards and resources like NFPA Link, TechStreet, MadCAD, FGI
  • Proficiency in Master Specification editing and software like eSPECS; Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Adept in technical aspects of one’s discipline; ability to mentor, train, motivate, and lead others
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written forms
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment; attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays
