About the role

Join the Electrical team for Hospitality and Entertainment projects in the Milwaukee office. You will effectively lead and mentor design level staff, QC work, collaborate with project managers, execute deliverables, solve complex problems, develop work plans, educate clients, prepare studies, and present findings.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively lead and mentor design level staff in both technical and non-technical skills.
  • Effectively QC own work and work of other staff (e.g., drawings, RFI answers, submittal reviews).
  • Demonstrate ability to collaborate with project manager in determining deliverables to meet project budget.
  • Independently represent EXP in project meetings/site visits; properly document results as required.
  • Solve complex problems within time and budget.
  • Develop, monitor, and successfully execute electrical work plans to meet schedule and budget.
  • Independently prepare studies and reports for electrical systems and present findings to client.
  • Develop tools or standards to improve efficiency and/or quality of EXP work product.
  • Evaluate Value Engineering (cost cutting) items with respect to EXP’s level of risk.
  • Lead the implementation of Basis of Design narratives into DD and CD drawings.
  • Expert in specific electrical requirements for applications within a minimum of one market sector.
  • Perform field verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovation projects independently.
  • Lead meetings with contractors during bid phase to review the design details.
  • Evaluate contractor pricing and cost estimates.
  • Perform at a 'responsible charge' level of meeting EXP's design and quality levels.
  • Present internally and externally through technical presentations.
  • Participate in voluntary training opportunities such as vendor lunch and learns (engage and ask questions).
  • Positively contribute to EXP and local office culture.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in related design of Hospitality, Entertainment, Healthcare, Life Sciences and building projects.
  • Engineering Degree (BS Architectural Engineering, or BS Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree).
  • Revit MEP proficient.
  • PE License preferred but not required.
  • Ability to travel locally.
