About the role

IMEG is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer in Denver, CO to join our Greenwood Village, CO office. The ideal candidate will specialize in commercial interiors, tenant improvements, and related markets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead analysis and design efforts for electrical systems
  • Utilize engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations
  • Work closely with peers to provide engineering solutions and advice to clients
  • Interact with clients to understand their needs and communicate technical information effectively
  • Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication
  • Support the execution of fast-paced consulting projects within the commercial interiors and tenant improvement market
  • Lead project planning, scheduling tasks, and managing multiple projects at once
  • Document design decisions and instructions from clients while monitoring project design progress
  • Analyze engineering problems and propose innovative solutions
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions
  • Provide in-process design reviews of electrical system design, calculations, and specifications
  • Implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure engineering designs and solutions meet standards
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering
  • Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work
  • Identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with electrical systems
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions
  • Oversee projects through construction administration phase and provide clients with solution-based communication

Requirements

  • Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
  • Strong technical and analytical skills including knowledge of principles relating to circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems design for buildings
  • Proficient with industry standard engineering software and tools including lighting photometric calculation software, power system analysis and design software, and energy compliance software
  • Knowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards
  • Knowledge of Master Specification editing and software such as eSPECS, BIM software, and CTC Revit Add In Tools; Proficiency of Smart Engineering Design Assist (SET) Tools within Revit for electrical calculations, coordination, properties, etc.
  • Ability to think, work, and make design decisions quickly to meet fast-paced deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in various stages of development and design
  • Ability to train and mentor less experienced staff
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred
  • 3 years of experience minimum required, 4 preferred, in the building design consulting industry with demonstrated experience in the commercial interiors and tenant improvement markets.
  • OR Associates degree, or certificate in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred
  • 6 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry

Pay

$92,000 - $123,000. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant.

This position is based in our Greenwood Village office, part of the greater Denver metro area.
