Senior Electrical BIM Lead

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage detailed electrical 3D BIM models, ensuring they are accurate and up to date throughout the project life cycle.
  • Collaborate with technical and design teams to develop, implement, and maintain company-wide BIM standards, procedures, and protocols.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary BIM coordination meetings and facilitate resolution of complex design and coordination issues.
  • Provide hands-on support for BIM software suite, troubleshooting issues and ensuring optimal performance.
  • Manage and oversee the creation and maintenance of the enterprise digital design library, including families, templates, and Dynamo scripts.
  • Evaluate project deliverables for compliance with BIM execution plans, standards, and client requirements.
  • Interface directly with clients to define BIM deliverables, ensuring projects are executed as per agreed-upon BIM protocols.
  • Promote continuous improvement by leveraging analytics to derive insights from project metrics.
  • Train and mentor project teams in BIM best practices through both informal and formal learning sessions.
  • Remain abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending tools and methodologies to further advance our BIM capabilities.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or higher education
  • 10+ years of AEC industry experience with a strong focus on BIM for electrical engineering and process mechanical design
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Construction Cloud
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams
  • Excellent organizational and coordination abilities
  • Demonstrated passion for mentoring junior staff and leading a team of specialists

Preferred But Not Required

  • Experience with Plant3D or OpenPlant/OpenBuildings Designer Worksuite
  • Professional Certification in BIM Management
  • Knowledge of construction scheduling and estimating practices
