Senior Electrical Assembler

Position Summary

The Senior Electrical Assembler will perform various duties on power distribution equipment and power control rooms that includes assembly, wiring and installation of components and systems.

Essential Responsibilities

• Interpret technical drawings and prints to assemble point to points systems, control panels and other electrical systems accurately.
• Install electrical devices (disconnects, lights, panel boards, transformers, battery chargers, lighting contactors, VFDs, etc.) adhering to engineering specifications and quality standards.
• Identify, cut, strip, and secure wires, connectors, and harnesses for industrial applications.
• Cut, strip, crimp, and terminate wires.
• Use wire markers, cable labels, tie-wraps, or cable lacing to maintain organized harnesses.
• Install wiring by following standard work/process instructions (NEC Manual).

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of high school diploma or GED and 5+ years of relevant manufacturing experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant manufacturing experience.
• Ability to crimp and terminate wires.
• Strong understanding of electrical components, systems, including soldering, wiring, & circuit assembly.
• Working knowledge of electricity, circuits, and functions of common components (panel boards, transformers, disconnects, terminal blocks, relays, lighting contactors, etc).
• Working knowledge of relevant NEC Code sections.
• Mentoring skills and ability to train others effectively.

• Troubleshooting ability.
• Time and project management.
• Able to generate a material take off.

Skills, Abilities & Other Requirements

• Ability to perform tasks with minimal direction or supervision.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Knowledge of air, hand, and power tools.
• Basic mechanical knowledge.
• Ability to read a tape measure.

Working & Environmental Conditions

• Lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Regular and frequent standing.
• Frequently working from a ladder, and climbing up and down ladders.
• Regularly working overhead.
• Regularly working in cramped quarters.
