Senior EHS/Safety Engineer

About the role

Eaton’s Electrical Division is currently seeking an EHS/Safety Engineer to join our team in Waukesha, WI. The expected annual salary range for this role is $86,000 - $126,000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Responsibilities

• Supports site in achieving EHS targets & objectives.
• Supports development, maintenance and achievement of goals in support of corporate and business group EHS strategic initiatives.
• Facilitates risk assessment at the location to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects.
• Supports site leadership team to create targets and objectives based on key EHS risks.
• Engages all shifts and communicates updates on a daily basis.
• Engineer risk out of hazards identified.
• Collaborate cross-functionally across Lincoln Ave Plant.
• Facilitate engagement of site MESH Team in ownership of the MESH elements.
• Works with leadership team and MESH element champions to complete an annual evaluation of compliance for EHS country, state, and local regulations.
• Uses established EHS data processes such as MESH Suite to manage data such as injuries and illnesses, environmental metrics, risk assessments, EHS action items and other pertinent information.
• Work with site leadership team and facilities to ensure that all key EHS operational controls are in place on a PM program, and that EHS action items are resolved on a timely basis.
• Cook with IH assessments (noise, hex chrome, & welding) and employee medical evaluations (example respirators use).
• Attend incident investigations (injuries, incidents, spills, property damage & near misses), manage MESH Prism and on-time closure and escalation of all corrective actions in MESH Prism.
• Coordinate with site leadership team and facilities to ensure that all key EHS operational controls are in place on a PM program, and that EHS action items are resolved on a timely basis.

• Supports A3 team with problem solving and supports tier meetings for various value streams.
• Develop and enhance safety programs used by the plant.
• Participate and lead Emergency Response Team.

Qualifications

• Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in occupational/environmental safety OR Engineering required Minimum of (2) two years’ experience working in an Environmental, Health & Safety role in a manufacturing setting No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area of 50 miles of Waukesha, WI will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Emergency Response Teams (ERT)
• EHS experience with a focus in engineering and safety
• Experience managing industrial hygiene programs
• Experience in heavy industrial setting (Fabrication center/Welding)
