Essential Responsibilities & Activities
- Responsible for the end-to-end design and development of EDS components, including shields, troughs, grommets, connectors, terminals, and power distribution components
- Own component delivery from initial concept through virtual development, validation, and production launch
- Collaborate with Purchasing and Finance to define technical requirements and support sourcing and quoting activities
- Partner with internal module owners and suppliers to define, release, and integrate EDS components into vehicle platforms
- Develop and maintain a standardized library of EDS components aligned with global engineering teams
- Perform and support virtual, physical, and field validation testing to ensure product performance and durability
- Ensure designs comply with all applicable safety standards and U.S. regulatory requirements
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance system performance and customer experience
- Manage supplier deliverables to meet cost, quality, and timing targets
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in wire harness and/or power distribution component design and release within the automotive industry
- Proven experience supporting full product development lifecycle (concept, design, validation, and launch)
- Strong expertise in EDS component design (connectors, terminals, harness protection, and power distribution systems)
- Solid problem-solving and engineering skills, with experience applying structured methods (e.g., Six Sigma)
- Familiarity with CAE tools or hands-on experience with simulation and analysis
- Working knowledge of validation and testing processes for automotive components
- Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively across cross-functional and global teams
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong proficiency with verbal and written communication skills, analytical problem solving, and creativity
- Willingness to travel, as needed
