Senior eDiscovery Counsel
About the role
Our client, a nationally recognized law firm focused on eDiscovery, information governance, and data-related legal matters, is seeking a Senior eDiscovery Counsel to advise clients on sophisticated discovery and information governance issues arising from complex litigation and investigations. This senior-level attorney will lead client engagements, develop discovery strategy, draft complex legal work product including ESI agreements, protective orders, motions, memoranda, and defensibility materials, and work closely with clients, co-counsel, experts, and junior team members. The ideal candidate will be an experienced law firm attorney with an active U.S. bar admission, strong client-facing and legal drafting capabilities, and the ability to contribute to business development and industry thought leadership. This is a fully remote U.S. position with travel as-needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide clients with “excellent value” for the services provided, including identifying legal issues with clients and providing legal analysis and solutions
- Provide advice to team members across the Firm on applicable laws and the interpretation of legal documents in a manner that avails practical legal approach while properly managing the risks to the Firm
- Responsible for keeping the Firm informed on new laws, regulations, and industry trends that affect the business as well as assisting with the development of policies and training as necessary
- Meet the Firm timekeeper expectations at every level
- Prepare and execute on an annual basis a business development plan that targets new work from new and existing clients
- Identify business development opportunities that result in business generation
- Lead client engagements and teams with little oversight
- Deliver client work product that requires little to no revisions and edits
- Coach and mentor junior team members
- Build cohesive teams that bring value to client engagements
- Provide technical knowledge and insight
- Interact and handle a range of clients
- Maintain current and accurate time records, ensuring that time entry deadlines are met
Requirements
- Significant law firm experience
- Doctor of Jurisprudence degree
- Admitted to a U.S. bar and willing to obtain D.C. admission if not already barred in a Firm jurisdiction
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
- Ability to travel internationally

Pay
Expected salary for this role is $310,000 – $350,000, commensurate with experience, training, skills, qualifications, and other market factors.
