This position can be based in Kennesaw, GA (suburb of Atlanta), Oklahoma City, OK, Naperville, IL (suburb of Chicago), Overland Park, KS, Fort Worth, TX, or Plano, TX (suburb of Dallas). Additional office locations may be considered for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct environmental reviews to assess the potential impact of proposed nuclear facilities on terrestrial and aquatic resources.
  • Prepare environmental reports and biological assessments in accordance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and other applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Support environmental licensing applications for the NRC.
  • Stay current on relevant environmental regulations and best practices.
  • Participate in site visits to gather environmental data and assess potential environmental impacts.
  • Support the development of technical content (text, figures, tables) for environmental reports and site feasibility assessments.
  • Interact with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and the public to address environmental concerns.
  • Prepare presentations and reports to communicate complex environmental information to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of environmental protection measures.
  • Perform terrestrial, aquatic, and federally protected resource evaluations for technical reporting.
  • Serve as mentor and trainer for junior staff in project management and technical performance of environmental compliance work.
  • Prepare proposals and statements of qualification.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in environmental consulting, nuclear power, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of environmental regulations (ESA, NEPA, MBTA, BGEPA, etc.).
  • Experience working with federal or state regulatory agencies.
  • Experience developing technical reports, environmental reports, and supporting regulatory reviews.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency using MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Ability to travel/work in the field 5% of the time, with typical travel durations of 3-4 days (office work is typically 95% of the time for this position; fieldwork can include site visits and meetings with clients and applicable regulatory agencies).

Pay

Compensation range: USD $86,400.00 - USD $166,800.00 per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, geographic location, and internal equity.
