Senior Director, Treasury (Bank Relationship Management)

About the role
Barings is seeking a senior employee for the Treasury team to focus on leading our bank relationship coverage effort. This role will build and maintain relationships with Barings’ key banking counterparties and optimize our fee wallet to deliver best execution to the firm. Serving as the point person for our relationships with North American financial institutions, this individual will be responsible for ongoing communication of the firm’s strategy, priorities, and helping navigate the firm across products and services. The role will work with individuals across the firm including those in investment teams, product management, business development, operations, legal, and technology.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with our Senior Relationship Managers and other key leaders on the Street; serve as a key interface to our banking partners and serve as the point person for helping them navigate our firm while optimizing our role and status externally.
- Take a key role in the development and construction of a quarterly bank relationship update that encompasses a trading update and organizational updates. This is both a qualitative and quantitative process that involves:
- Leveraging technology and trading data to help our trading counterparties understand how they fit into Barings’ share of wallet and appropriately prioritize strategic priorities.
- Interviewing business heads and traders to better understand their relationships with our top banks, activity/strategy, and strategic priorities for the year ahead.
- Work collaboratively with the rest of the Treasury team on all other finance initiatives including knowledge of fund finance needs, balance sheet priorities, liquidity management, treasury operations, and other strategic initiatives.
- Strong communication skills and ability to efficiently deliver a “One Barings” approach to the Street, ensuring continuity and consistency in our messaging; can multi-task and effectively manage complex transactions.

Pay
Base Salary Range: $175,000–$275,000+ (also eligible for additional incentive programs).
