About the Role

The Sr Director, Senior Leadership Development is a uniquely dual-natured role — equally rooted in strategic vision and hands-on execution — that plays a critical role in shaping the growth and success of Insmed's leaders. This role is responsible for designing and delivering a robust, forward-looking, and innovative leadership development strategy for our senior leadership population, including building high-impact learning experiences that enable our organizational culture and leadership philosophy. The Sr Director collaborates with HR Business Partners, the Talent Discovery & Selection team, cross-functional leaders, and our Executive Committee to build differentiated development plans aligned with succession and readiness strategies, ensuring bench strength for critical leadership roles and developing our talent pipeline to meet current and future business needs. This role demands both thought leadership and hands-on program development and facilitation within our fast-paced, ever-evolving global environment.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with HRBPs to support a robust succession planning approach for business-critical senior leadership roles, building a multi-year roadmap to ensure bench strength and creating individualized succession readiness plans.
  • Create and lead a senior leadership mentoring program, driving meaningful mentor/mentee relationships and tracking program outcomes.
  • Develop, own, and continuously improve the learning curriculum for global senior leadership.
  • Design and deliver impactful executive development initiatives, creating experiences that enable continuous learning aligned with the 70:20:10 model.
  • Identify and manage external partnerships to co-create or source development programs and solutions that enhance senior leadership capabilities at Insmed.
  • Build and facilitate learning initiatives for current cross-functional program team leadership (e.g., global product teams) as well as emerging leaders.
  • Manage relationships with Executive Coaching vendors, assessing coaches and matching them to Insmed employees as needed or based on program enrollment.
  • Design and facilitate onboarding programs tailored for senior leader success and accelerated time-to-impact.
  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to align recruitment strategies with succession and leadership development needs, addressing capability gaps proactively.
  • Own development content and experiences delivered as part of the Leadership Summit group.
  • Benchmark industry-leading executive development, onboarding, and succession experiences to ensure a best-in-class senior leadership experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organization Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related field; Master’s degree a plus.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in Leadership Development, Organizational Development, Talent Management, or related HR disciplines, with at least 3-5 years of focused experience in executive-level development.
  • Prior experience in Pharma and/or Biotech required.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing senior leadership and cross-functional program leader development strategies and initiatives that drive measurable impact.
  • Experience designing, developing, and facilitating learning experiences for a global, cross-functional senior leader audience, leveraging multiple synchronous and asynchronous modalities (e.g., instructor-led learning, eLearning, social learning).
  • Experience with succession planning frameworks, leadership assessments, and development planning.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships.
  • Executive coaching experience and/or certification preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of adult learning, coaching, mentoring, and leadership competency models.
  • Highly collaborative with strong relationship-building and consulting skills for global senior leader stakeholders.
  • Strong facilitation skills and executive presence.
  • Proven program management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Highly proficient in Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office 365 suite, and other learning/content development tools.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

This role will require occasional domestic travel, approximately 10%.

Schedule

This is a hybrid role based out of our Bridgewater, NJ office. You’ll have the option to work remotely most of the time, with in-person collaboration when it matters most.

Pay

$214,000.00 - $292,000.00 annual.
