About the role
The Senior Director, Physician Services role at Your Experience Matters Memorial Medical Center is part of Lifepoint Health, a diverse healthcare network. This position is dedicated to ensuring the efficient and effective management of all aspects of Physician Practice Management, aligning with the Group's and Hospital's strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Provides leadership, direction, and ongoing administration and management for all aspects of Physician Practice Management and ensures policies and procedures are implemented for efficient, effective management of all programs.
- Has overall responsibility for all aspects of Physician Practice Management's financial and operational performance and is accountable to communicate and implement Group and Hospital strategic initiatives to meet the program goals and objectives.
- Responsible to the company at all levels: HSC, Group, and hospital to assist in the integration of physicians into the Group's delivery system.
- Leads the design, implementation and evaluation of professional development strategies, initiatives and programs within Physician Services.
- Supervises leads and develops Market Directors and Market Managers to oversee day-to-day operations of the Group's employed physicians.
- Develops and implements specific programs, products, and services to support the long-range strategic direction for the Group's employed physicians.
- Assists with due diligence for the Group's Employed Practice acquisitions, coordinates findings with Group, identifies operational requirements and opportunities to incorporate post acquisition; assists with financial monitoring.
- Serves as communication liaison with Hospital Management, Group, Physician Services, and practices.
- Oversees the coordination of operational start-up for new practices with Physician Practice Management staff.
- Maintains accurate and comprehensive files for patient records, current operational policies and procedures, internal and external reports and correspondence, governmental and regulatory standards.
- Communicates any operational opportunities to the Hospital CEO, Group President, and Physician Services.
- Oversees and directs administrative activities such as systems to maintain accurate and comprehensive files for: patient records; current operational policies and procedures; internal and external reports and correspondence; governmental and regulatory standards.
- Ensures execution of LifePoint Physician Services' "Meaningful Use Current State Assessment & Road Map to the Future" Business Plan.
- Coordinates the preparation of the annual Practice Management operational and capital budgets; participates in the ongoing evaluation of the allocation of funds and expenses, and provides monthly and annual statistical data, interpretation and variance reporting with timely immediate corrective action plans.
- Works collaboratively with Physician Service and Human Resource leaders, including the Vice Presidents of Physician Services and the Senior Director of Learning and Development in Human Resources to ensure program effectiveness.
- Develops and coordinates quarterly new Manager/Provider Orientation and Training at the HSC.
- Engages needed HSC resources to provide a comprehensive program to orient and train new Physician Services Staff on Practice Startups, Financials, Coding, Compliance, Quality Initiatives, Legal, etc...
- Serves as Physician Services Facilitator for Advancement to CMPE.
- Develops basic Practice Management Skills Assessment.
- Develops basic Practice Management Skills Training.
- Helps Practice Management Leadership with individual or Group needs for talent identification and development.
Requirements
- Graduated from a Program in Health Care Management or Business Administration
- Bachelor's degree Required; Master's degree Preferred
- A minimum of ten (10) years of experience managing physician practices
- The ability to travel up to 75% of time
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
