About the role

The Senior Director, Sales & Marketing is a senior commercial leader responsible for accelerating U.S. revenue growth, market penetration, and commercial capability build-out in a high-growth new energy business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Revenue Growth & Market Expansion

  • Own and deliver regional revenue targets and market share growth

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans across OEMs, utilities, EPCs, and integrators

  • Identify and capture new market opportunities in ESS, EV, and energy transition sectors

  • Build long-term customer partnerships and ecosystem influence

  • Sales Leadership & Team Performance

  • Lead and scale a high-performing regional commercial team

  • Establish clear performance metrics, pipeline rigor, and accountability culture

  • Upgrade team capability in complex sales, deal execution, and customer engagement

  • Go-to-Market & Marketing Strategy

  • Define and execute integrated go-to-market strategy aligned with business priorities

  • Strengthen brand positioning and market credibility in the U.S.

  • Drive customer segmentation, product positioning, and value proposition clarity

  • Sales Operations & Commercial Discipline

  • Build and institutionalize sales operating cadence (forecasting, pipeline reviews, CRM discipline)

  • Implement KPI-driven performance management (conversion, deal velocity, margin)

  • Optimize pricing strategy, contract structure, and commercial governance

  • Cross-Regional Leadership

  • Serve as a key bridge between U.S. commercial teams and global headquarters

  • Align execution with global product roadmap and supply chain capabilities

  • Drive cross-cultural integration to improve decision speed and execution quality

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
  • 10–15+ years of progressive experience in Sales, Marketing, or Commercial Leadership
  • Proven track record of delivering revenue growth in a $300M–$500M scale business
  • Strong experience in B2B technical / industrial sales environments
  • Demonstrated capability in sales operations, forecasting, and pipeline management
  • Experience operating in high-growth, fast-changing environments
  • Strong leadership, executive communication, and stakeholder alignment skills

Industry Experience (Required)

  • Direct experience in New Energy / Energy Storage / EV / Battery / Power Systems
  • Strong preference for candidates from or with exposure to:
  • Tesla
  • Rivian
  • Fujiwhara Electric Co., Ltd.
  • AESC
  • Sungrow Power Supply
  • Trina Solar
  • JinkoSolar

Preferred Qualifications

  • Mandarin Chinese proficiency, or
  • Proven experience working with Chinese / Asian multinational organizations
  • Experience supporting U.S. market entry or rapid expansion phases
  • Balanced background across sales leadership + marketing strategy
  • Strong understanding of U.S. energy market, policy, and customer landscape

Compensation

Base Salary: $200K – $250K
Annual Bonus: 20%
Commission: Per company policy

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package at Gotion, and is determined within a range. This provides you with the opportunity to progress as you grow and advance your career at Gotion. The base pay range for this role is shown below, and will depend on your skills, qualifications, experiences, and location.

Expected Pay Range

$200,000 - $250,000 USD
