About the role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Director of Growth Marketing to lead our marketing team to drive direct-to-consumer (DTC) and marketplace growth efforts. This leader will own performance marketing, lifecycle and retention strategies, marketplace acquisition and seller/buyer growth programs, and a high-performing team focused on driving sustainable revenue, unit economics, and long-term customer value.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the growth strategy for DTC and marketplace channels, aligning acquisition, retention, and monetization goals with company OKRs.
- Lead performance marketing across paid social, search, programmatic, CTV, and affiliate channels; set budget allocation and optimize toward CAC, ROAS, and LTV metrics.
- Design and run a rigorous experimentation program (A/B and multi-variant tests) across creative, acquisition funnels, pricing, and onboarding flows to improve conversion and lifetime value.
- Build and scale end-to-end lifecycle marketing programs (onboarding, retention, winback, reactivation) leveraging email, SMS, push, and in-app communications.
- Partner with Marketplace Ops and Product to grow both supply and demand—improving activation, utilization, and marketplace balance while protecting unit economics.
- Establish and measure core growth KPIs, build dashboards and reporting cadence, and present insights and recommendations to executive leadership.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a cross-functional growth team including performance marketers, lifecycle specialists, data analysts, and creative partners.
- Manage agency and vendor relationships to amplify capabilities while ensuring performance accountability and cost efficiency.
- Drive cross-functional alignment with Product, Engineering, Finance, and Operations to prioritize growth projects and ensure smooth execution.
- Ensure compliance with privacy and ad platform policies, and implement best practices for tracking, attribution, and data governance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Analytics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of growth, performance, or digital marketing experience, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role scaling DTC and/or marketplace businesses.
- Proven mastery of paid acquisition channels (Meta, Google, programmatic, CTV, affiliates) and hands-on experience managing 7-figure+ media budgets.
- Strong analytics skills with experience using BI tools and experimentation platforms; proficient in SQL and comfortable working with data teams to attribute impact and model LTV/CAC.
- Demonstrated success growing two-sided marketplaces or platform businesses—knowledge of marketplace dynamics, unit economics, and supply growth levers required.
- Track record building and scaling cross-functional teams, mentoring managers, and hiring top-tier talent.
- Excellent communication skills with experience presenting growth plans and results to executive leadership and board-level stakeholders.
- Data-driven, test-first mindset with strong judgment for prioritization and trade-offs.
- Experience with modern martech stacks (CDPs, experimentation platforms, attribution tools, ESPs) and a focus on measurement integrity and privacy compliance.
Qualifications
- Strategic Operator who balances long-term growth initiatives with short-term performance improvements to drive sustainable unit economics.
- Data-First Leader who uses measurement and experimentation to reduce uncertainty and accelerate learning.
