About the role

The Senior Director of Financial Aid (SDFA) supervises a full office staff that provides important financial services to all Franklin Pierce University (FPU) students. Reporting to the VP of Enrollment Management, the SDFA oversees the University's federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs, including need-based grants, student loans, work-study, and other sources of financial aid.

Responsibilities

- Supervise a full office staff providing financial services to all FPU students. - Oversee, direct, and manage the University’s federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs. - Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations. - Manage the annual setup, system automation, and auto-packaging of financial aid software systems, preferably using PowerFaids and Jenzabar. - Maintain a working knowledge of federal reporting, specifically FISAP, IPEDS, and FVT/GE, as well as A-133 audits, NH state aid programs, and VA benefits. - Provide leadership and strategic direction for financial aid operations. - Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless financial aid processes.

Requirements

- Experience in financial aid and related regulations in non-profit higher education environments. - Experience at institutions that include NCAA division I or II models is highly desirable. - Good organizational and interpersonal skills. - Strong verbal and written communication abilities. - Working knowledge of federal reporting, specifically FISAP, IPEDS, and FVT/GE, as well as A-133 audits, NH state aid programs, and VA benefits. - Experience with financial aid software systems, including annual setup, system automation, auto-packaging, and more, preferably using PowerFaids and Jenzabar.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field. - Master’s degree in higher education administration, finance, or a related field preferred. - Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in financial aid administration. - Knowledge of financial aid policies and procedures, including need analysis, budgeting, and compliance. - Experience with financial aid software systems, including annual setup, system automation, auto-packaging, and more, preferably using PowerFaids and Jenzabar.

Skills

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. - Familiarity with financial aid software systems, including annual setup, system automation, auto-packaging, and more, preferably using PowerFaids and Jenzabar.
