Senior Director of Development

General Statement of Job

This grant-funded position is fully in-person (not remote or hybrid).

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Under supervision of the Executive Director for Development and Planned Gifts, perform a variety of duties associated with building the annual fund and identifying planned and major gifts for the University, its academic programs, and institutional projects.

• Direct, develop, and implement annual giving and reunion gift programs and campaigns to help the University achieve its fundraising goals, including spring and fall appeal, reunion solicitations, and annual giving days.

• Collaborate with alumni relations to ensure reunion class gifts and goals are established and managed.

• Maintain a portfolio. Fundraising goal for the Sr. Director of Development will be determined annually by the Executive Director for Development and Planned Giving.

• Manage and execute routine annual fund solicitations.

• Ensure accurate tracking and rating of prospects within CRM.

• Ensure pledges are properly tracked and execute pledge reminder process.

• Affiliate with other activities as required.

Additional Job Functions

• Contribute to development of overall fundraising strategy

• Coordinate on-campus fundraising activities

• Represent the University on external committees, work teams, civic partnerships as assigned

Minimum Training and Experience

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in business or other relevant field and at least three to five years of significant experience in fundraising or a related field.

• Experience with computerized databases and word processing is an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
